MaxFund Launches L.A. Evacuation Mission for Wildfire Relief
Rescue Team Departs on 72-Hour Emergency Trip to Transfer Displaced Shelter Animals

Denver, Jan. 17, 2025 — In response to the urgent need for resources and assistance in Los Angeles County’s wildfire zones, MaxFund has launched an emergency mission to transfer at-risk pets from affected shelters. The rescue team is expected to arrive in Denver with the rescued animals on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 4 p.m. at MaxFund’s campus (958 Inca St., Denver, CO 80204).

The four-person team left MaxFund’s campus ahead of schedule at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, in an effort to beat an incoming arctic blast and snowstorm expected to hit Colorado by late afternoon.

Traveling in MaxFund’s air-conditioned RV, equipped with empty kennels and additional space for more animals, the rescue team includes the organization’s Veterinary Clinic Manager, Certified Veterinary Technician, and two Mobile Adoption Transporters. The team is undertaking a 1,000+-mile journey to assist shelters in Southern California, where they are coordinating with organizations to assess the needs of at-risk animals, including medical cases and overcrowding due to the recent evacuation orders.

For on-site coverage of the rescued animals’ arrival at MaxFund, contact Marketing Coordinator Sophia Guerriero. Reporters should plan to arrive at the estimated time above, which is subject to change pending road conditions.
