The Mibs Giving Tree Story

Introducing The Mibs Giving Tree

In loving memory of MaxFund alumni dog, Mibs, whose silhouette sits at the base of the tree, this one-of-a-kind, locally crafted tree runs two stories up the wall of the MaxFund Administrative Office and Cat Shelter building, Meow Manor.

A Tribute to Mibs, from David Beattie:

“How I miss our little min pin mix Mibs. I met her when I was a volunteer dog walker at MaxFund. It was love at first sight. She fit just perfectly in the crook of my arm. This is her memorial at MaxFund headquarters. Each leaf will be a memorial for another beloved MaxFund animal and should help raise money for MaxFund.”

Mibs came to MaxFund in 2014 and took to David immediately. She was just so happy getting belly rubs. For her, walking was optional. Indeed, it appears that she chose him too. He adopted Mibs into his family soon after. Eventually the dogs in the household included a Chi-mix named Malcolm. Together they enjoyed rides in David’s plane, often taking to the skies to rescue other dogs from high kill shelter states and bringing them to safety in Colorado through David’s animal rescue, “Malcolm to the Rescue.” Today, Malcolm misses his sister, Mibs, but he’s busy too, continuing on the rescue flights to save more animals.

The Mibs Giving tree has been made possible through a generous gift from Mibs' owners, David Beattie and Philip Van Hoevenberg. The tree was crafted by Dead Fish Studios in Denver. You too can add your name, or a beloved pet, family member or friend's name to a leaf on the giving tree, and your donation goes directly to the support of MaxFund.
