Meeting TK, it is evident that this sweet 6-year-old terrier pit mix has yet to meet someone he doesn’t immediately love. Originally joining us at MaxFund on Valentine’s Day, this loverboy is known around the shelter for carrying his toy bone on walks, showing it off proudly to anyone who crosses paths with them.
TK is known as the shelter sweetheart. As much as he loves parading his toys, especially his stuffy ones, around on his walks, this gentle soul prioritizes relaxation. In short, he’s a cuddle bug! Any chance he can get to curl up next to his favorite humans he will take. And despite the irritation from his allergies, he loves to receive and give affection. Belly rub fan number one!
TK’s introduction to MaxFund has had its fair share of obstacles. Shortly after his intake, our dedicated shelter staff discovered TK has some pretty intense allergies that inhibit him from maintaining a standard diet. Daily, TK receives multiple oral medications, medicated baths, foot soaks, and specialized food. With his diet and his allergies closely managed, it’s clear nothing can break TK’s tough spirit.
Today, TK is a shining example for all the animals who come through MaxFund’s doors with nowhere else to turn. In spite of his ongoing care needs, TK remains optimistic and heart-first with everyone lucky enough to meet him.
It is MaxFund’s impassioned mission to give every animal a second chance at life, especially those with complex medical cases. Our nonprofit organization assumes all the medical expenses associated with these animals because we believe there is no dollar amount that can be placed on saving a life.
If you’re looking to add some extra love and loyalty into your life, consider meeting TK. Or, consider donating towards his medical Fund-a-need today.
